At 12:30 p.m. local time on Nov. 29, authorities “responded to a report of reckless endangering in the area of Big Fall Creek Road milepost 5, a popular camping area northeast of Lowell.”
They learned that the “Home Improvement” alum, 44, and Johnnie Faye Cartwright, 32, had been “driving together” in the area with their three young children and “at some point, Bryan got out of the truck and began walking on Big Fall Creek Road.”
“Cartwright then attempted to run over Bryan, crashing the truck with the children inside into the ditch. Bryan was able to move out of the way and avoid injury. No one inside the pickup was injured,” the statement further read.
While interviewing the couple, “deputies observed signs [that] both were impaired” and learned that “Bryan was not supposed to be in contact with Cartwright.”
The sheriff’s office then confirmed that the mom of three was arrested for attempted assault in the first degree, three counts of recklessly endangering and driving under the influence.
As for Bryan, he was arrested for a probation violation on an original charge of assault in the fourth degree following a domestic violence conviction in 2023. His probation expires in 2026.
Authorities detailed that the couple’s three children are currently with a family member.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office statement comes just days after Page Six confirmed the “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” actor and Carwright had been taken into custody.
The child actor was denied bail and would remain behind bars until Wednesday. As for Cartwright, her arraignment was scheduled for Monday.
This is not the first time that Bryan has been accused of attacking Carwright. In 2020, he was charged with felony strangulation, menacing, assault and harassment.
According to a police report, she woke up to Bryan pulling on her hair and hitting her due to missing phone chargers.
Cartwright alleged that Bryan’s abuse started a few weeks before and she accused him of choking her nearly to the point of suffocation.
At the time, he was only convicted of menacing and assault.
On Nov. 13, Bryan claimed his shot at stardom as a child “left scars,” as he attempted to explain his long list of run-ins with the law.
“Being thrust into the spotlight at nine years old brought pressures I wasn’t equipped to handle — but that’s no justification for my choices as an adult,” he told TMZ, adding that he “deeply” regretted his actions.
Bryan stated that he’s “struggled with the lasting effects of early fame, addiction, and poor decision-making,” which he blames for his “repeated legal issues.”
