Young Republican blocked from entering church were woke DA was speaking
A young Republican activist was blocked from a church in Philadelphia by woke activists who formed a human wall to keep him out, according to video footage.
Frank Scales, 22, founder of Surge Philly, shared footage showed a group of activists barring his entry to a town hall with woke Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner last Thursday night at the historic Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Society Hill.

“You’re not coming in. You’re not coming in. Simple as that. You’re not coming into our sacred spaces,” a man outside the 19th-century church holding a bullhorn tells Scales, in footage shared by Surge Philly, a young Republicans group, on Instagram.
Scales, who is white, asks why he can’t come in, to which the man replies, “Because I said you’re not.”
In tense scenes, the man tells Scales, “You’ll see what it means if you come in.”
Later in the video, Scales tries again to gain access to the church, sparking a man in the line to tell him, “If you touch me, you’re gonna have a problem,” as he locks arms with his fellow protesters.
“This is the party of inclusivity,” Scales says, smiling to the camera. “These people are clowns.”
Scales disrupted a separate Krasner town hall at a different church in Philadelphia earlier in the week, accusing the Dem DA of inflammatory rhetoric by calling President Trump’s supporters fascists.
He said words like that are what got Charlie Kirk killed by an alleged left-wing college dropout in Utah earlier this month.
“Fascists are going to be fascists,” Krasner said at that even — which was about the possibility of sending the National Guard into Philadelphia.
The President has not mentioned Philadelphia, but Krasner claimed it was only a matter of time.
“These are people who agree with Adolf Hitler,” Krasner said, sparking a furious response by Scales during the event at the Salt & Light Church in southwest Philadelphia, as reported by NBC 10.
“Lie! People like you are responsible for the death of Charlie Kirk. Stop calling them fascists,” Scales said.
“He’s demonizing Trump. He’s demonizing MAGA republicans, and he’s demonizing the other side of the aisle. He called Trump a fascist. That’s what led to the death of Charlie Kirk. That’s disgusting. We can’t have that. We need dialogue,” Scales told reporters later.
Scales went on to accuse “lawless Larry, crumb bum Krasner,” of only bringing up the National Guard to “distract the people of this city from his failures.”
Speaking after last Tuesday’s town hall, Krasner doubled-down on his comparison of the MAGA movement to fascism.
“My father volunteered and served in World War II; half of my family tree is gone. It’s gone because of Nazis. It’s gone because of fascists. All of my uncles, all of them, served in World War II. They didn’t all come back,” Krasner told reporters.
“It’s absolutely necessary to recognize the times we are in, to not be appeasers,” he added.
Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
