‘WWHL’: Kandi Burruss Calls Out Riley Burruss’ “Privilege” After She Refused To Fish Her Phone Out Of The Water In ‘Next Gen NYC’
Kandi Burruss is calling out her daughter Riley Burruss‘ privilege.
The mother-daughter duo appeared on Tuesday night’s (July 15) episode of Watch What Happens Live, where they broke down the latest episode of Next Gen NYC, particularly when Riley dropped her phone in the ocean and offered $1,000 to anyone who could find it in the murky New Jersey water.

While Kandi described Riley as a “great swimmer,” Riley said she was hesitant to jump in after her phone because of the “Jersey water.”
“The privilege!” the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star called out. “She didn’t even attempt to jump in there for that phone. She was like, ‘Could somebody [jump in there]? I’ll give you $1,000.” Where is this $1,000 coming from? That’s what I want to know!”
Riley swiftly added, “My account,” prompting Kandi to remind her who fills that account with money.
In Next Gen NYC—which also stars Bravo kids Gia Giudice, Brooks Marks, and Ariana Biermann—Kandi gave Riley one year to figure out what she wants to do career-wise before cutting her off financially. Now that that year is officially up (Next Gen NYC filmed its first season in summer 2024), a fan in the WWHL audience asked the duo where they currently stand on that issue.
“No, she didn’t [cut me off], but because I’m still going to get my master’s,” Riley revealed. “I’m still gonna go to school.”
While the New York University graduate didn’t divulge where she would be attending school next, she confirmed that she is actively “studying” to take her test in August. With any luck, Next Gen NYC will be renewed for a second season and we’ll get to follow Riley into the next chapter in her life!
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
