Witnesses recount Disney World death after 3rd fatality in month

Witnesses have recounted the horrific moment a Disney guest died at a popular Walt Disney World Resort hotel — as Florida cops and paramedics scrambled to the scene.

Matthew Cohn, 28, died at the Contemporary Resort on Thursday — less than two weeks after another Disney fan died at the same location — marking the third fatality at the Orlando attraction this month.

Police tape and at least a dozen officers could be seen swarming around the site close to the Bay Lake Tower outside the Contemporary Resort hotel, video posted on TikTok showed.

“We woke up to a VERY large law enforcement [presence] outside our balcony this morning at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower. We were told it was a ‘medical emergency.’ Prayers to the family & those involved!” the user wrote.

A second hotel guest said she saw the victim being given CPR, as others chimed in the comments.

“Unsure if he fell or jumped. They knocked on our door as well and told us not to look out the window and that there was a medical emergency. Have not heard or confirmed anything as we left to go to the parks shortly after. Sad situation all around for everyone involved,” wrote the guest, who said she was staying at the hotel with her mom and her children.

Hotel employees were posted at several windows to shield guests from looking out of the tower at the scene, one guest said, as reported by WDWNT.

Scaffolding, towel carts, and other hotel items were used to block the scene from view, while a white tent was erected in the area, Inside the Magic reported.

Dozens of police vehicles, a fire truck, and an ambulance were reportedly on-site, while staff members closed off select entrances to Bay Lake Tower, WDWNT reported.

All emergency personnel had left the resort by 1 p.m., according to guests.
