Ironheart Season 2, anyone? Who wouldn’t want to see Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) go head to head with the literal and metaphorical demons that popped up for her in Season 1?!

In the Season 1 finale of Ironheart, Riri finally came face to face with Parker Robbins a.k.a. “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos) and used the magic Zelma (Regan Aliyah) had channeled into her suit to remove the magical cloak from Parker’s being. That only ended up solving half the issue, though, as she would soon come to find out he was nothing more than a puppet for the real big bad, Mephisto (Sacha Baron Cohen).

In the end, the six-episode series set up one of Marvel’s most iconic comic book villains for the MCU and posed an interesting question about who in the franchise would be willing to cut a deal with the devil (or the MCU’s version of it) to get what they desire most. And right now, for me, that would be an Ironheart Season 2, so we can tie up some of these loose ends.

So, is it happening? Here’s everything we know about Ironheart Season 2…

Will There Be An Ironheart Season 2?

As of this time, Ironheart has not been renewed for a second season. Out of all of the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ shows, only Loki and Daredevil: Born Again have gotten more than one season, though, so while it would make sense for Ironheart‘s story to continue after that cliff-hanger ending, we are not holding out hope that it will return.

How Did Ironheart Season 1 End?

Episode 8, “The Past is the Past,” finally brought Riri and Parker back together after Parker ordered Zeke Stane (Alden Ehrenreich) to kill her so she would be out of the way. Having a soft spot for Riri, Zeke could not kill her, and it ended up working out in his favor as they were able to work together to rewire his programming. This allowed Riri to gain access to Parker without his bodyguard and make him vulnerable enough to get the cloak.

After removing the magical hood from Parker’s body, Riri was met in the restaurant portion of Desperito’s by Mephisto, who offered to make her wildest dreams come true if she shook on a deal with him. Initially hesitant, Riri was overcome by the thought of having her AI hologram, Natalie (Lyric Ross), back after losing her for the second time. What she did not bargain for was that Mephisto would be able to bring the real Natalie, the one killed in a drive-by several years prior to the start of the series, back to life.

In the end, the series concludes with Natalie and Riri reunited and hugging, only for the final second to show a black branch spreading across Riri’s arm to signal that she made a deal with the devil. In a post-credit scene, we also see Ramos’ character pop into the shop where Zelma works to try and see how he can gain his powers back and take down Riri once and for all.

Who Stars In Ironheart?

Aside from Thorne, Ramos, Cohen, and the rest of the cast members mentioned above, the series stars Matthew Elam (Xavier), Anji White (Ronnie Williams), as well as Manny Montana (Cousin John), Sonia Denis (Clown), Shea Couleé (Slug), Zoe Terakes (Jeri), and Shakira Barrera (Roz), all members of Parker’s crew. The first episodes also featured comedian Eric Andre as Rampage before Riri replaced him on the team.

How Many Episodes Are There In Ironheart Season 1?

From start to finish, Ironheart Season 1 includes just six episodes, which debuted across a two-week time period in June and July. With all episodes now streaming, you could even use the July 4 weekend to binge the entire series.

When Will We See Riri Williams And Mephisto Again?

A bit of bad news here: we don’t quite know yet. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe works to figure itself out after box-office bombs and Disney+ viewership steadily declining, the future of all the characters in outlier projects is uncertain. We can expect that Riri will probably show up in one of the upcoming Avengers films, slated for 2026 and 2027, but even that is unclear.

As for Mephisto, given that this is one villain from Marvel Comics that has a massive impact on major characters like Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and more, we do think he will be popping up sooner rather than later, potentially as early as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, slated to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

What Comes Next In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Next up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is The Fantastic Four: First Steps, releasing on July 24 exclusively in theaters. Just after that is Eyes of Wakanda on Disney+, produced by Black Panther visionary and Ironheart EP Ryan Coogler.

Before you see Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby’s Fantastic Four, you might want to check out another one of Marvel’s most recent movies, Thunderbolts* (or The New Avengers, depending on who you ask), as it is now finally making its way to PVOD. No word yet on when it will be streaming on Disney+ but we will let you know when we find out.
