Will There Be A ‘Duster’ Season 2 On HBO Max?
Jam-packed with car chases, explosive action sequences, and 70s nostalgia, Duster’s race to its Season 1 finale on HBO Max was one to be savored like a long drive in a getaway car. Now that the dust has settled, fans are dying to know whether or not the action-thriller has reached its final destination.
Set in 1970s era Arizona, the show follows Jim (Josh Holloway), a skilled getaway driver working for powerful crime family patriarch Ezra Saxton (Keith David), joining forces with Nina (Rachel Hilson), the FBI’s first Black female agent looking to take the Saxton family down. The finale of the first season premiered on July 3, and it left us with cliffhanger after cliffhanger. Ezra is left hospitalized after a fatal shot to the chest during a shootout, but is he really dead? Who knows! Oh yeah, and it turns out Jim’s brother Joey actually didn’t die in that explosion — Ezra helped him fake his own death and he’s been posing as the invisible, omnipresent “Xavier.” No big deal.

Will we ever get to see the aftermath of all these crazy twists and turns? Here’s what we know about Duster Season 2.
Has Duster Been Greenlit For Season 2?
Nope, not yet. As of today (July 8), HBO Max has not confirmed whether or not Duster will bite the dust. Don’t lose hope yet — the first season just ended last week, and an outpouring of love from fans may encourage those mysterious streaming service higher-ups to take the show for another ride. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for updates.
What Might Happen In Duster Season 2?
There’s a lot that the series could explore with a second season — namely, the whole Joey faking his death thing. On top of that, the show also has the potential to build on Jim and Nina’s bond even more after their initial escapade brought them together.
LaToya Morgan, co-creator of the series along with J.J. Abrams, discusses possible Season 2 plot points with TV Insider: “We’re so excited about where that’s gonna take us, and hopefully, if we get a Season 2, so many fun escapades to get into…Who is Joey now? And what has he been getting into and who has he been getting into it with? There are a lot more murky areas that we want to peel back the layers of to really deepen the story and really challenge Jim and Nina’s relationship. They’ve just sort of kind of come to a place where they have a little bit of trust and now…so there’s lots of good stuff to play with.”
Duster is now available to stream on HBO Max.
