Whoopi Goldberg Urges Joy Behar To “Let ‘Em Go” After She Complains About Wearing A Bra On ‘The View’: “I’ve Been Hanging For Years”

Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar had an all-too-real moment on this morning’s episode of The View.

At the top of the broadcast, Behar walked over to the Hot Topics table wearing a sultry leather jacket, complete with shoulder pads and bright red lipstick. As Goldberg did her daily welcome to the live studio audience, she became distracted by Behar’s hand placement in front of her chest.

“I thought you were moving your bra around,” Goldberg interjected, while Sunny Hostin explained that Behar was actually trying to rub something off of her hand.

“She is dressed like a dominatrix, though,” Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in, pointing to Behar’s all-black leather getup.

Goldberg’s abrupt interruption kick-started what seemed to be a much bigger debate than any political policy: to wear, or not to wear a bra.

“Why do I have to wear a brassiere anymore? I don’t want to do it anymore. I just don’t,” Behar complained, while Goldberg advised, “Just let ‘em go.”

Behar, however, noted that she “can’t have things hanging around like that.”

“Not on TV, anyway,” the 83-year-old comedian added.

However, being on a national daytime television show never stopped Goldberg from seeking the more comfortable option. “Just so you know, I’ve been hanging for years. But that’s neither here nor there,” she reminded her longtime friend.

The episode then went into a debate over the government shutdown, and a look back at Nancy Pelosi’s political legacy after she announced her retirement at the end of her current term earlier this morning. The ladies also spoke to former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez and Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi.

The last time Behar’s bra was discussed was during a 2023 episode of The View when, during a commercial break, the longtime co-host accidentally exposed her undergarments to the other women.

“The biggest surprise happened to us seconds ago when Joy’s bra started making all kinds of eyes at people at the table,” Goldberg said through laughter when the show returned from the break. “I mean, it was like an earthquake, and suddenly the bra was like, ‘Helllooo.’ It was something else.”
