Whoopi Goldberg Bashes Trump’s Immigration Policies: “We Don’t Know Who Is Now Considered American”
Whoopi Goldberg and the hosts of The View claimed America is taking “a step towards tyranny” under President Trump’s administration as Goldberg questioned who could even be considered an American anymore under the ongoing crackdown on immigrants.
The ladies of The View were discussing the backlash Trump has faced for denying the existence of Jeffrey Epstein‘s client list, which he previously promised to release.

Goldberg said his supporters “should be angry.”
“Young people should be angry with him, older people should be angry with him, women should be angry with him,” she said. “Anybody who isn’t considered now an American, which we don’t know what that is.”
She continued, “We don’t know who is now considered American by America who has changed the rules every couple of days. Kids are going to court by themselves.”
Sunny Hostin responded, “That’s a step towards tyranny.”
“We’re already in a tyranny,” Goldberg fired back. “We’re in it.”
Joy Behar and Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that the Epstein case has become a unifying issue for voters on either side of the aisle, unlike other controversial moves Trump has made in the past.
“The interesting thing about politics right now is that when he said he would grab a woman by the you-know-what, and then he made fun of soldiers, and John McCain, et cetera, none of this mattered. This story matters to them,” Behar said.
Sara Haines pointed out that the backlash Trump is facing now could be a product of his own rhetoric. “He stoked conspiracy which lets people’s minds go where they want,” she said.
Griffin added that the “heinous” nature of Epstein’s crimes is “really unifying people” on either side of the party lines.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
