Everyone’s favorite hockey-player-turned-golf-champion is headed back to the green in Happy Gilmore 2, the long-awaited sequel now streaming on Netflix.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck, with a screenplay written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, this sequel to the hit 1996 comedy, Happy Gilmore, finds the hot-headed Happy (Sandler) once again returning to golf in order to pay for his daughter’s ballet school. Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, and Christopher McDonald are all back reprising their roles from the first film, while rapper Bad Bunny and filmmaker Benny Safdie join the cast as newcomers.

The first Happy Gilmore movie—directed by Dennis Dugan, who also has a small acting role in the sequel—took place on the east coast of the U.S., but was actually filmed in Vancouver, Canada. Where was Happy Gilmore 2 filmed?
Happy Gilmore 2 was filmed on location in the great state of New Jersey. Many of the golf scenes were filmed on the 18-hole golf course at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, in the Northern part of the state. According to a local news report, the golf course was shut down for two months for filming last year. The club extended its golf season for its members to make-up for the shut-down.
Other golf scenes were filmed at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, NJ. And some miniature golf scenes were also reportedly filmed at Farmview Golf Center on East Avenue in Hackettstown. (Happy just needs to go to his happy place for those mini golf courses!)
Other New Jersey Happy Gilmore 2 filming locations include Steve’s Burgers on Route 46 in Garfield, Ideal Beach in Middletown, around the town in South Orange and Maplewood, Dayton Street School in Newark, the Civic Center in Verona, and various other locations in Irvington and Essex County.
