As of now, the sonically-gifted duo, who are touring together for the first time, unfortunately don’t have any New York or New Jersey gigs lined up but will get close when they play Toronto’s History on Friday, Aug. 15 and Silver Spring, MD’s The Fillmore on Sunday, Aug. 17.

At all shows, the pair will likely debut tracks from their yet-to-be-released album, which is rumored to be titled “Abi & Alan” like the tour. Although not much is known about the forthcoming record — Badu’s first since 2010’s “New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh)” excluding her 2015 mixtape “But You Caint Use My Phone” — a single has hit the airwaves. “Next To You” combines the singer’s famously lush vocal styling with a bass-y, Mobb Deep-sampling Alchemist beat.

Prior to the U.S. and Canada leg of the run, the twosome are playing a trio of concerts in Japan. Before that mini Japan jaunt, Badu took the stage at Dallas’ Bomb Factory and performed a quick set on June 19. According to Set List FM, the brief spot included fan favorites like “Didn’t Cha Know,” “On & On” and “Appletree” from the reigning Queen of Neo-Soul.

Fans Baduists can purchase tickets for all upcoming Erykah Badu and The Alchemist shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the ‘Luv Iz Tour’ is Friday, June 27.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Erykah Badu new music

On June 20, Badu and The Alchemist dropped “Next To You,” the first single off the “Abi & Alan” album.

A strummy backbeat gets the four-minute track underway. Just as you start nodding your head and settle in, Badu’s hypnotic vocals kick in and the song lifts off. It’s soul, it’s Hip-Hop, it’s R&B, it’s trip hop, it’s a little bit reggae and a whole lot of fun.

Make sure to stick around to the end, too. Around 2:40, the tune switches gears and goes into overdrive. It’s a choice we call surprising yet inevitable and delectable.

To hear for yourself, you can find the endlessly catchy “Next To You” here.
