We finally found where “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is.

Starting Thursday, Aug. 28, Las Vegas Sphere will host larger-than-life, wraparound screenings of the iconic 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz.”

At each and every show, crowds will be whisked to a 360° version of Dorothy and Toto’s tumbleweed Kansas hometown with Uncle Henry and Aunty Em’s humble farm crowding the 160,000 sq. foot and 16K resolution screen.

Then, one earth-shaking tornado later, you’ll end up in Oz’s candy-colored Munchkinland, plucky poppy fields and majestic Emerald City. To top it all off, vibrating haptic seats, environmental effects and custom scents will add to the surreal, immersive experience.

“Imagine what it would be like to be in a tornado in the Sphere where you’ve got wind coming at you, you’ve got scents coming at you, you’ve got leaves coming at you, your hair is flying all over, you feel as though you are in that tornado with Dorothy, and that’s what it’s all about,” Sphere President Jennifer Koester told The Hollywood Reporter. “You’re not going to watch a movie, you are going to live a movie. You’re going to feel it, see it, touch it, smell it.”

And, yes, there will be flying monkeys. Oh, boy, will there ever be flying monkeys.

In the event you’d like to attend, tickets are available for over 400 (!) “Wizard of Oz” showings from opening day up until Dec. 19.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one show was $135 including fees on Vivid Seats.

“Wizard of Oz” at Sphere promotions

Ahead of the premiere, the fine folks at Sphere have gone above and beyond building intrigue for the soon-to-be game-changing reimagining of the 1939 film.

First, in tandem with the announcement of the screening series, Sphere had massive, 22-foot ruby red slippers jut out from under the massive venue.

More recently, they’ve advertised the terrifying flying monkeys by having them flutter outside the orb. Even watching on Instagram will stop you right in your tracks.

Personally, we’re partial to their spellbinding video set to Judy Garland’s gorgeous rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” Try watching without tearing up. We dare you.

Plus, these days, the Venetian Casino is hosting a free and open to the public installation that “celebrates the classic film in a modern way.”

Of course, fans that have followed the making of this groundbreaking show are likely aware of the AI controversy surrounding the production.

Obviously, adapting a 4:3 film to a canvas as wide as Sphere’s would mean taking some creative “ethical” liberties. “The Sphere team, with the aid of Warner Bros., found props and set designs from the original movie so objects such as photos on the wall in Professor Marvel’s caravan could be generated onto the screen,” USA Today reported.

 “We’re trying to be tasteful with these things,” Award-winning technician Glenn Derry told the publication, about incorporating 4D effects. “I don’t want to distract from the film because it’s one of the great masterpieces. You want people to be part of it, but balance that with not being distracting.”
