No further intel has been disclosed on the film, which according to Deadline, is taking over the theatrical release date slot originally belonging to an untitled Marvel film.

Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons, is a staple of FOX‘s Animation Domination lineup, and kicked off Season 37 on Sunday night (Sept. 28). The series centers on the Simpson family, rounded out by Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie.

The Simpsons feature film, directed by David Silverman, follows Homer as he must save the world after accidentally polluting Springfield’s water. Outside of the film and its upcoming sequel, the series has spawned holiday specials and a Monday Night Football collab.

While fans of the series have claimed that it eerily predicts the future, showrunner Matt Selman told the New York Post in an interview published last December that they “never try to predict anything.”

“There’s nothing we’d ever say on the show, like ‘Hey, here’s a prediction, everybody,’ ” he explained. “

Fortunately, there’s still more of The Simpsons ahead of the new film, and even afterward, According to Variety, the series was renewed through Season 40, taking The Simpsons into 2029.
