Created by Jon Erwin, the popular series follows the ascent of an outcast shepherd, David (Michael Iskander), who eventually becomes the king of Israel. Debuting in February 2025 on Prime Video, the show was an instant hit for Amazon, earning 22 million viewers in its first 17 days. All eight Season 1 episodes are now available to watch on Prime Video, but what about a second season?

Will There Be a Season 2 of House of David On Prime Video?

Yes! Back in March 2025, Prime Video ordered a second season of its popular biblical drama. Wonder Project’s Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn will be returning as directors, writers, and executive producers for Season 2, while Iskander will reprise his role as David.

“Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn’s compelling creative vision has solidified our belief in the series, and we are excited to deliver more of the story to our customers,” Head of Television at Amazon MGM Studios Vernon Sanders said in a statement. “We look forward to a continued journey with Wonder Project as we further expand our slate to encompass faith-based series.”

Per Amazon, the upcoming season will center on the aftermath of the battle between David and Goliath and David’s rise to the throne. “As he navigates palace politics, his family’s jealousy, and a growing romance, David steps deeper into his destiny and learns what it means to become a great leader.”

When Will House of David Season 2 Premiere On Prime Video?

No official release date has been announced, but we have an idea of when new episodes might drop on Prime Video. Production on a second season has already started, with Erwin revealing that the show was shooting in Greece over Easter weekend.

Based on the show’s production schedule, the end of 2025 seems a bit too early for new episodes. We expect House of David Season 2 to premiere in mid-2026 on Amazon.
