What Brigitte Macron told Kate Middleton after snubbing French president: lip reader
Brigitte Macron may have snubbed her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, but she was warm and fuzzy with Kate Middleton.
Brigitte, 72, ignored Emmanuel, who was holding his hand out to help her walk down the steps of a private plane that had landed at Royal Air Force Northolt in London on Tuesday, and waited her turn to greet Middleton and Prince William.

Video of the arrival showed Emmanuel, 47, giving the Prince of Wales, 43, a firm handshake before he moved on to air kiss the Princess of Wales’ hand.
“Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you. … It’s good to see you,” the French president said to the British royal couple, lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror.
When Brigitte greeted Middleton — who looked elegant in a pale pink Dior structured blazer and tulle midi skirt, along with a matching hat — the women exchanged double cheek kisses.
According to Freeman, Brigitte told the princess it was “so good” to see her and added, “You look great.”
Notably, Middleton, 43, recently battled cancer.
She announced her diagnosis in March 2024, two months after stepping back from the spotlight to undergo abdominal surgery.
The mother of three — who shares Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — with William — completed her chemotherapy treatment in September 2024, revealing the following January that she was cancer-free.
Despite being in remission, life hasn’t been the same for Middleton.
“Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, [that’s not the case],” she admitted last week while visiting Colchester Hospital.
“It’s a roller coaster. It’s not smooth like you expect it to be,” she added. “The reality is you go through hard times.”
The Duchess of Cambridge explained that despite “not necessarily [being] under the clinical team any longer,” she’s unable “to function normally at home as [she] perhaps once used to.”
She made sure to note that finding a “new normal … takes time.”
