Brian Daboll isn’t talking like a jilted ex.

“I’ve actually spoken to some coaches interested in the Giants’ job who’ve had conversations with Daboll and they’ve gotten rave reviews about this Giants job, specifically about Jaxson,” Russini said on the “Giants Huddle” podcast Thursday. “Ownership and Jaxson, again, are things he had shared with them in I guess you can call it private conversations, but everyone is collecting information. They want to know what they’re walking into here, because nobody knows unless you do it.”
Coaches, like any profession, share tidbits about their employers among one another, which helps create reputations for certain organizations.
There are reasons that certain teams are viewed as bad jobs due to ownership, while others teams are often described as destination jobs.

That Daboll speaks highly of the team is an interesting nugget since his tenure did not end well due to his midseason firing that could lead to potential bad blood.
Daboll spent three-plus seasons leading the team, accumulating a 20-40-1 record that included a great first season followed by three flops.
That he’s praising the ownership and quarterback carries weight since those are the selling points the Giants will attempt to reinforce to candidates due to the lack of team success over the past decade-plus.
John Mara is often praised as a good owner to work for, although his teams have largely been irrelevant and have won one playoff game since the last Super Bowl in 2012.
Dart just completed his rookie season and having him on a rookie contract is a potential advantage for Big Blue should the incoming coach believe they can win with the former Ole Miss star.
The Giants have begun interviewing candidates and ex-Ravens coach John Harbaugh and former Browns coach Kevin Stefanski have seemingly generated the most buzz.
The quarterback seemingly mentioned those two while shown on ESPN during the Rebels’ College Football Playoff los to Miami on Thursday.
