‘We Were Liars’ star Candice King shares her six favorite books

Though she has very little free time, actress Candice King savors the moments she gets to pick up a book.

“I wish I was as consistent a reader as I used to be,” King — whose new series “We Were Liars” premieres June 18 on Amazon Prime — tells Page Six. “Life gets busy and I forget to pick up the books waiting for me on my bedside table.”

Adds King, “But when everything slows down there’s nothing I love more than finding fast friends in the characters of the book I’m reading.”

See below for the “Vampire Diaries” alum’s six must-read books.

"Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein

“My favorite book as a kid that still ignites my inspiration as an adult.”

"Still Life With Woodpecker" by Tom Robbins

“I love Tom Robbins so much I went to see him speak for my birthday years ago! I reread this book at least once a year. The cadence at which he writes feels like the words are dancing when I read them. It reminds me to ignore the yuck and lean in to the yum.”

"We Were Liars" by E. Lockhart

“You will love and hate the Sinclairs equally. You’ll be reminded about your own first love when you read about Cadence falling in love with Gat. And the twist will get you! Don’t Google the end!”

"The Wedding People" by Alison Espach

“If you’re like me and have a million weddings to go to this summer, grab this book at the airport and bring it with you! It will make you look at all the guests at the wedding in a whole new light.”

"Funny Story" by Emily Henry

“I am such an Emily Henry fangirl. I miss classic rom-coms and all of her books feel like a good ol’ rom-com with a twist. You can’t go wrong with any of her books for a cozy night in or beach vacation (reference intended!)”

"The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid

“This book made me want to put on some Sinatra and drive around Hollywood in a convertible and red lipstick. This love story left a mark on me.”

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
