Wander Franco found guilty of sexually abusing minor


Rays shortstop Wander Franco was found guilty of sexual abuse of a minor in his native Dominican Republic. 

Franco, 24, was sentenced to two years of suspended prison time, according to reporter Juan Arturo Recio.

The conviction was unanimously agreed upon by the judges overseeing the case.

There are several conditions for Franco to meet, with the presiding judge warning the major leaguer that the main one for his probation is that he doesn’t approach minors with sexual intentions. 

If he fails to meet the conditions, he will have to serve his full sentence.
