Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is winning more than grand Game 4 confrontation with Shohei Ohtani

LOS ANGELES — Turns out the World Series battle of megastars isn’t over quite yet.

Sure, Shohei Ohtani’s incredible offensive performance in the 18-inning classic Monday night was historic. But guess what? It’s all just history (as in the past) to the Jays and their own superstar, Vlad Guerrero Jr., who are still fighting hard.

While Ohtani continues to amaze with some unreal performances, in some ways the Jays’ own megastar is matching the greatest of the greats this October, and by some offensive metrics even outdoing Ohtani. What’s more, Guerrero won the grand confrontation of leading men in Game 4.

Of course, no one can combine pitching and hitting mastery like Ohtani. But Guerrero’s actually outhit everyone this month — Ohtani included — while playing a brilliant all-around game.
