UNC misery continues for Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson as couple mocked during heartbreaking loss
The jokes seem to write themselves for Bill Belichick’s disastrous UNC tenure.
The California Golden Bears mocked the beleaguered North Carolina head coach after sealing a 21-18 victory over the Tar Heels on Friday night at California Memorial Stadium, while the student section poked fun at the 73-year-old’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.

Trailing by three in the final minutes, Tar Heels quarterback Gio Lopez connected with receiver Nathan Leacock deep in Golden Bears territory — but as the wideout barreled toward the end zone for a potential go-ahead score, he got stripped at the one-yard line and Cal recovered the fumble.
Following the fumble recovery, Cal displayed a graphic on the video board that parodied statements issued by Belichick and UNC director of athletics Bubba Cunningham on Oct. 8, which voiced support for the Hall of Fame coach amid the program’s turbulent start to the season and rumors about his future.
In Cal’s satirical jab, Belichick’s role was hilariously swapped for Golden Bears’ mascot, Oski the Bear.
“I am fully committed to Cal athletics and the program we are building here. Why do you ask?” remarked Oski.
Added “Cal executives”: “Oski has our full support. No, really, we mean it. Why else would we make this statement?”
While Belichick took his lumps on the field, the student section also poked fun at his off-the-field relationship with Hudson by erupting in chants of “High school girlfriend!”
Friday’s loss, the biggest heartbreaker yet this season for the Tar Heels, dropped them to 2-4 and still winless against Power Five foes.
The Hall of Fame coach’s reputation has taken a staggering hit amid the program’s dramatic flop, fueling the narrative that his first year at the helm could be his last.
Belichick has been called out by outraged UNC parents with claims of a lack of communication and deemed by ESPN’s Paul Finebaum as being on his way to being “the worst coach in college football history.”
And opposing fans and teams are adding to the misery.
The Tar Heels can only hope for a momentum shift, but they’ll have a steep mountain to climb when they host No. 18 Virginia in Chapel Hill on Oct. 25.
