UNC football scraps Hulu docuseries as Bill Belichick flops
A behind-the-scenes look at Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels will not be coming to a small screen near you.
A Hulu series planned around the Super Bowl winner’s first year in Chapel Hill is no longer moving forward, according to a report Tuesday from Inside Carolina — just days after the Tar Heels were embarrassed on home turf in a 38-10 blowout loss against Clemson.

Belichick, 73, originally confirmed in August that his football program would be chronicled as part of a season-long docuseries with the streamer amid the hype surrounding his first year in the college ranks.
“This is about the UNC football program, there’s obviously a lot of interest in it, and it’ll stream on Hulu later this fall,” Belichick said in an August Instagram video, months after a deal with NFL Films’ “Hard Knocks” fell through.
Despite the preseason buzz swirling around Belichick — not to mention his headline-making romance with 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson — the Tar Heels have not lived up to the fanfare, falling to 2-3 early on the season.
UNC opened the season on Sept. 1 with an ugly 48-14 loss to TCU in front of a star-studded crowd that included Michael Jordan and Randy Moss.
Although the team bounced back with dominant wins against Charlotte and Richmond, UNC has been on the losing end of blowouts in recent weeks, with the home crowd fleeing for the exits Saturday after getting stomped by Clemson.
“I thought we had a good week, I think we were ready to go,” Belichick said. “Unfortunately, we gave up some big plays early in the game that really tilted the game, and were just never able to recover.”
Despite getting a break from on-field action this week, the drama has continued to engulf Belichick’s program.
In a damning report published Monday by WRAL News, a source claimed Belichick’s program is “an unstructured mess” and that “there’s no culture, no organization.”
The Tar Heels will next visit Cal on Oct. 17.
