Ukrainian soldier had throat cut by Russian torturers, crawled to safety for 5 days
A Ukrainian soldier had his throat cut and was buried alive by his Russian torturers before spending five days crawling to safety — and vows to return to the frontline to face the “creatures” who captured him as soon as he recovers.
Vladislav, 33, said his fellow hostages were castrated, their eyes gouged out, and their faces mutilated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s butchers, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported.

The father of one is unable to speak and wrote down his horrific experiences in a diary, which was then shared by his wife and brother.
He was captured earlier this month trying to help his comrades who had been taken prisoner by Russian soldiers after they lost control of their position near the city of Pokrovsk, in the eastern Donetsk region, according to his family.

“The first guys who were captured — they were from intelligence — had their eyes gouged out, their lips cut off, their male organs cut off, their ears, their noses,” Vladislav’s brother, Yevhen, said.
The soldier was thrown into a pit along with seven dead Ukrainian soldiers and then buried alive by the Russian brutes, who poured garbage on top of the mass grave, Vladislav told his relatives through his diary.
“He says he was lucky that when they threw them into the pit, they poured more garbage on top so it wouldn’t be so visible. There was a broken bottle there, and his hands were tied, so he was able to cut the rope with that bottle,” Vladislav’s wife, Victoria, told Suspilne.

After crawling for five days, the seriously injured Vladislav finally reached Ukrainian lines on Aug. 17 and was taken to a military hospital.
He had lost a lot of blood, and his wounds had begun to rot when he was found, according to General Director Serhiy, a medic in the Ukrainian military.
“When they cut your throat, when a person is bleeding out, there are few chances. He held on to the end, but, you know, what makes it different is that he was sure to the end that everything would be fine,” Serhiy told Suspilne.
Vladislav has already undergone surgery, and doctors haven’t given up hope that he will be able to speak again, Serhiy said.
The soldier, who has a 4-year-old daughter back home, is already planning on returning to the front line, according to his brother.
Branding his Russian captors “creatures,” he said he wants them to go through “what I and those seven of our Cossack boys felt,” Yevhen said.
