Trump lashes out after Marjorie Taylor Greene’s inflammatory ’60 Minutes’ interview: ‘Rotten apple!’

President Trump demanded an apology from “60 Minutes” over its misleading Hunter Biden laptop coverage and fumed about outgoing GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s combative interview with CBS’ Lesley Stahl in which she hinted Republican colleagues mock him behind his back, calling her a “traitor” in an epic Truth Social rant.
“The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!),” Trump wrote Monday morning after the “60 Minutes” interview aired.

The primetime interview came just weeks after the firebrand Georgia rep — and onetime die-hard Trump loyalist — announced she would be resigning from Congress after breaking with the president on issues like the release of the Epstein files and voicing support for extending Affordable Care Act subsidies.
She also blamed Trump’s rhetoric for fueling death threats against her and her family.
Greene said it would “shock people” to learn how GOPers talk about the president out of his earshot.
“Well, let’s shock people,” Stahl egged her on.
“Ok. I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him, making fun of how he talks, making fun of me constantly for supporting him, to when he won the primary in 2024 they all started — excuse my language, Lesley — kissing his ass and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time,” Greene shared.
She claimed that Republicans bite their tongue when speaking about Trump, even when they disagree with him, because they’re “terrified” of ending up in his sights.
“I think they’re terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them,” she said.
Right on cue, Trump uncorked with a lengthy post on his social media platform slamming Greene.
“Too much work, not enough time, and her ideas are, NOW, really BAD — She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple!” Trump wrote.
“Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person,” he added, sparing some ire for Stahl, “60 Minutes” and CBS’ parent company Paramount — which in October paid Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit he brought over a deceptively edited interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign.
“This was proven last night when washed up, Trump hating, 60 Minutes ‘correspondent,” Lesley Stahl … interviewed a very poorly prepared Traitor, who in her confusion made many really stupid statements,” he said.
“My real problem with the show, however, wasn’t the low IQ traitor, it was that the new ownership of 60 Minutes, Paramount, would allow a show like this to air.
“I hereby demand a complete and total APOLOGY, though far too late to be meaningful, from Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes for her incorrect and Libelous statements about Hunter’s Laptop,” Trump wrote. Stahl famously said in an interview with Trump in 2020 that Hunter Biden’s emails “can’t be verified” after the Post broke the story about Biden’s abandoned laptop.
Greene later hit back at Trump with an X post proclaiming herself “AMERICA FIRST,” juxtaposed with a pair of images showing she received no campaign cash from the American Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC) while claiming the president received more than $230 million.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter. -MTG,” she wrote in a parody of his signature social media sign-off.
Trump returned to the program for an interview last month, in which he bragged about the eight-figure settlement with Paramount, but his comments were edited from the TV broadcast.
