Trevor Lawrence on dad’s viral NFL draft moment: ‘That picture is crazy’
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence may want to forget about his dad’s viral moment at the 2021 NFL Draft.
During an appearance Monday on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast, co-host Dan “Big Cat” Katz brought up that Jeremy Lawrence looked visibly uncomfortable and crammed on a couch with his family while Jacksonville was on the clock with the first overall pick.

“Why didn’t you guys give any space to your dad on draft night?” Katz asked Lawrence, referring to a viral photo of the Pro Bowl quarterback sitting next to his wife, Marissa, mom Amanda and dad Jeremy.
Katz brought up his old tweet that showed him asking the same question during the 2021 NFL draft.
“I remember this, and I was dying.” Lawrence, selected first overall by the Jaguars in 2021, said of Katz’s tweet.

“I said, ‘Can we give Trevor’s dad a little nut space, talk about squeezed out,’” Katz said, reading his tweet.
“No disrespect to your dad, but you guys basically made it like he doesn’t have [privates],” Katz added.

Lawrence, who couldn’t help but laugh, covered his face with his hand.
“My dad is such a nice guy,” the quarterback said. “He’s selfless. He wanted to give the couch away to me, Marissa, my mom — just a stud.
“That picture is crazy. He’s also sitting there and you can tell he’s not comfortable.”
“You guys squeezed the hell out of him. Did you apologize after?” Katz asked.
“No, I think I showed him [your tweet] after and he was just like shaking his head — didn’t even say anything,” Lawrence said. “That’s hilarious. Sacrificing nuts for the draft … Love you, dad.”
Maybe some moments are better left in the past.
