Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole deactivates X account

Kayla Nicole is involved in a social media mess.

The influencer and ex-girlfriend of Travis Kelce deactivated her X account Thursday night after a thread of screenshots allegedly showed Nicole using racist and homophobic language in posts on her account in the early 2010s.

The slew of alleged posts resurfaced after Nicole’s Halloween costume caused a stir among Kelce and Taylor Swift fans.

Many Swifties believed that Nicole’s recreation of Toni Braxton’s look from the “He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video was in reference to the 14-time Grammy winner, with some believing Swift took a jab at Nicole on her son song “Opalite” on her newest album, “Life of a Showgirl.”

In the song, Swift sings: “You couldn’t understand it / Why you felt alone / You were in it for real / She was in her phone / And you were just a pose.”

So when Nicole, who previously dated the Chiefs tight end on-and-off for five years before splitting up, wore the Braxton-inspired costume, social media users claimed she was clapping back at Swift.

However, on the 34-year-old’s “PreGame” podcast, Nicole emphasized that her costume was in reference to a different Taylor and from a “very specific” childhood memory.

“I had a white best friend. Her name was Taylor,” Nicole recalled. “And she [had] the only house I could go over to as a kid because my mom didn’t play them type of games. I specifically remember driving home from private school in my uniform in the back of a paddy wagon with Taylor, and her mom was playing this song,” she added.

In the moment, Nicole remembered thinking, “Wow, white people listen to black people music as well.”
