Travis Kelce wears orange to Chiefs vs. Commanders game, a ‘Life of a Showgirl’-coded outfit

Travis Kelce sparked a social media storm Monday night when he strutted into Arrowhead Stadium wearing head-to-toe orange — an apparent nod to fiancée Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, arrived for his team’s primetime matchup against the Washington Commanders in a printed denim shirt and matching denim jeans by Fendi. Both items are already sold out.

The burnt orange ensemble featured distressed detailing and a gradient wash that fans quickly dubbed “Orange Dreamsicle” in Instagram comments.

Kelce accessorized his showgirl-coded look with Christian Louboutin Louis high-top sneakers ($995), a Louis Vuitton LV Dog pendant, a Palm Tree Crew Diamond Edition pendant ($3,650, now sold out) and Marni Edku sunglasses ($285).

He completed the outfit with his signature swagger — and a white T-shirt.

The Chiefs’ official Instagram account leaned into the moment, posting photos of Kelce with the caption: “Orange ya glad @killatrav is here?!”

Fans immediately connected the outfit to Swift’s 12th studio album, which dropped Oct. 3 and features orange as its signature color. “That’s the life of a showgirl babe,” one commenter wrote.

Others made winking references to the suggestive, Kelce-inspired track “Wood,” which includes the lyric, “Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / His love was the key that opened my thighs.”

“Mr. Redwood Tree in the building!!! 🔥” one wrote, while another commented, “the life of mr. redwood 🌴.”

One third summed up the collective sentiment: “We love an on-brand king 👑🫰❤️‍🔥”

Even Kelce’s brother Jason couldn’t resist weighing in. During ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast, the former Philadelphia Eagles center joked about his brother’s look, saying, “He’s probably figured out the bleach in the wash, it’s getting out in one of his shirts today.”

Swift, 35, revealed the symbolic meaning behind her album’s vibrant hue during an August appearance on the Kelce brothers’ “New Heights” podcast. When Jason asked why she chose orange, the Grammy winner explained it reflects how “exuberant and electric and vibrant” her life felt during the Eras Tour.

“I’ve just always liked it, Jason,” Swift said. “It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this [Eras] Tour.”

Swift was spotted at Monday’s game, despite skipping tunnel walks this season.

The pop star wore a red Courrèges turtleneck sweater ($550) and vinyl miniskirt ($650) while cheering on her fiancé from a suite alongside Chiefs WAG Brittany Mahomes, wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Kelce has made game-day fashion a form of romantic tribute this season. Earlier this month, he wore a plaid Louis Vuitton look ahead of the Chiefs’ game against the Detroit Lions — a near mirror image of the print Swift wore out to dinner a few days earlier

The couple announced their engagement in August, just months after Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour wrapped its nearly two-year run. Kelce celebrated his 36th birthday earlier this month with Swift at the official “Life of a Showgirl” release party.
