Travis and Jason Kelce applaud ‘friend’ Blake Lively on ‘New Heights’ after her falling out with Taylor Swift
Travis and Jason Kelce applauded their “friend” Blake Lively for her performance in the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” after her falling out with Taylor Swift.
In the first episode of the brothers’ “New Heights Film Club,” they reviewed the 2005 film and had a lot of praise for Swift’s frenemy in her role as Bridget Vreeland.

“It is also the film debut of our friend Blake Lively. She killed it. Absolutely wonderful as Bridget,” Jason, 37, began.
“Killed it,” Travis, 36, agreed. “I might be a little biased but I thought Bridget’s story was the most relatable and probably the most fun.”
Besides the fact that he knows the actress, 38, personally, Travis said that Lively’s character was the one he “identified the most with” since she plays an athlete in the film.
“Bridget, she kind of struck me, obviously tall, strong, bold beautiful, athletic,” Jason shared while giving his in-depth review.
He and Travis then poked fun at the “Gossip Girl” alum because of her poor running form seen throughout the movie.
“I got to admit, not the best run. Blake, I love you, it does not strike me as a star athlete run,” the father of four quipped.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end did defend Lively, however, by bringing up how “impressive” it was that she could run and say her lines at the same time.
“She has good endurance, though, because to be running like that and to be talking,” he added. “I would be f—ing gassed and be way worse at trying to spit my lines if I was running and talking.”
Although the full episode was posted on Monday, fans quickly realized the episode was actually filmed back in October 2024.
Many of them speculated that the choice to post it on the heels of Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” release was an intentional move with a deeper meaning about where Lively and Swift, 35, currently stand.
“Originally posted in October of 2024, but very specific timing reposting it now,” one fan wrote on X.
“I have a feeling we’re getting paparazzi photos of Blake and Taylor this week since she’ll be in New York to promote showgirl. It seems like they’re laying ground,” another predicted.
Swifties already theorized that Track No. 10, “Cancelled!” was made in defense of Lively despite reports of the pop star and producer having a falling out earlier this year.
The besties’ friendship came to an end once Swift was dragged into Lively’s legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, whom she accused of sexual harassment.
After Baldoni claimed in his countersuit that Lively tried to use her friendship with the songwriter to get her way with their movie, Swift was subpoenaed by his legal team. Shortly after, the investigation was dropped, but it still ruined the pair’s friendship.
In a very telling move, Travis unfollowed Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, on Instagram in April and Page Six exclusively learned that he did so in direct response to the “Shallows” star’s legal drama.
A source told us in June, “She will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin. She really hates that Blake would even think like that.”
Even though the explosive saga seemed irreparable, the “Opalite” songstress shocked fans with “Cancelled!” which includes lyrics about accepting friends despite backlash from the public.
The Grammy winner laments, “Good thing I like my friends canceled / I liked them cloaked Gucci and in scandal,” and eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that Lively was named the face of the fragrance Gucci Premiere in 2012.
