Titans pivot after Giants blow up their John Harbaugh hope
The Titans are charting an alternate route.
With John Harbaugh and the Giants finalizing a deal to make the Super Bowl champion the next coach of the franchise, Tennessee brass is moving forward with other coaching candidates.

The team has interviews scheduled this coming weekend with former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy, current 49ers defensive coordinator and former Jets coach Robert Saleh and Jonathan Gannon, who was fired last week after three seasons coaching the Cardinals, SI’s Albert Breer reported Thursday.

Former Browns coach Kevin Stefanski, who interviewed with the Titans last week, is also considered a “very strong candidate,” per Breer.
Former Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel was at the Titans’ facility Wednesday for an interview, per ESPN, which added that Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith would speak to the team virtually.
Harbaugh, fired by the Ravens last week after 18 seasons with the team, was slated to meet with the Titans on Thursday after spending the day Wednesday in East Rutherford.
The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported late Wednesday that all signs are pointing to Harbaugh, 63, becoming the next Giants coach.
The Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll in November, one month after the Titans axed Brian Callahan after less than two years on the job.

The Titans finished the 2025 season at 3-14.
The Falcons, Dolphins, Cardinals, Browns, Raiders, Ravens and Steelers are the other coaching vacancies this cycle.
Atlanta was the other team scheduled to have an interview with Harbaugh.
