‘Time to rest when I’m dead’
A 52-year-old Suffolk County man left behind a trail of eerie Facebook posts in the days before he was found murdered outside a ritzy Long Island yacht club, The Post has learned.
“Plenty of time to rest when I’m dead so now it’s a quick shower and gym time,” Christopher Millwater, whose body was found in the parking lot of the Stony Brook Yacht Club earlier Monday morning, wrote on his Facebook page shortly after 6 a.m. Saturday.

The following day he was online again, this time hinting at a troubled past — including the three-sided recovery-unity-service symbol connected to recovery and sobriety.
“NOBODY can throw my past in my face,” the post said. “I will personally sit down and tell you my story, beginning to end. What may be your gossip, is your testimony. I’ve made peace with everything.”
Shortly before midnight that day, he posted, “The Fog is temporary the clarity that follows is welcomed.”
That was the final message on Millwater’s page before he was found in front of 21 Shore Road around 3:40 a.m. Monday and rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Suffolk County police said he “was a victim of violence” who was “murdered,” but have not announced an arrest nor provided additional details about the mysterious slaying.
A group of people at Millwater’s home declined to comment to The Post on Tuesday.
It is unclear if the macabre messages on Facebook provide any clues to his violent death.
Most of his posts are benign and typical of most Facebook users, and some suggest he was obsessed with his receding hairline, and posted videos using specific hair products.
Public records show Millwater owned two small boats in the 1990s, but none are now registered in his name.
The parking lot where Millwater’s body was found is reportedly used for several marinas in the ritzy North Shore suburb, as well as for parking for the town of Brookhaven boat ramp at Stony Brook.

In an unrelated case, Irish fashion designer Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra was found dead on a boat at the upscale Montauk Yacht Club in August in another shocking Long Island case.
