TikTokker ‘Tea Tyme’ who allegedly mowed down pedestrian during livestream asks for donations

A TikTokker who allegedly mowed down a 59-year-old pedestrian while broadcasting live on the platform in suburban Chicago is asking for donations, setting social media users ablaze with outrage.

Content creator Tea Tyme — real name Ty Nesha — was addressing viewers on the app while driving in Zion, Ill., about 65 miles north of the Windy City, on Nov. 3 when a sudden, sickening thud is heard, prompting her to scream and say, “F–k, f–k, f–k … I just hit somebody.”

A child apparently riding in the vehicle with the 43-year-old can be heard repeatedly asking “What was that?” before the stream abruptly ended.

Darren Lucas, 59, was struck in a crosswalk on Nov. 3 by a woman driving a 2015 Ford Edge, who police said called 911 and remained at the scene to speak with investigators, Fox 32 Chicago confirmed.

Lucas, who worked at a grocery store across the street, was rushed to Vista East Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead of blunt force injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were not suspected factors in the fatal crash, Zion Police Lt. Paul Kehrli told the Lake and McHenry County Scanner. He later told the Guardian that “no charges have been approved at this time.”

Cops believe that Nesha’s video is relevant to the investigation into Lucas’ death, but Kehrli declined to comment to the outlet about how it was brought to the department’s attention.

Lucas’ son-in-law, Chris King, told the Guardian that was “a great friend” and the “nicest guy I’ve known,” adding that “he played a great role in [us] finding humor when humor is needed.”

But as the man’s devastated family tries to pick up the pieces, Nesha re-emerged on social media to heartlessly solicit donations.

“My CashApp up there if y’all wanna support while I’m on mental leave,” she said.

“You know I don’t like asking y’all for s–t, but if y’all … find it in y’all’s heart and y’all wanna support, my CashApp is right there,” she said on TikTok three days after the deadly crash.

“If y’all wanna pour something in, y’all are more than welcome to do that,” she added, addressing a restricted audience that limited who could see the post.

“I will be OK. I am taking things one day at a time. I’m good, you guys,” she said before telling viewers she’s “been writing” before launching into an utterly shameless self-promotion, saying she “got a new album series coming out.”

But once the post was shared widely, furious commenters ripped her to shreds for her callousness.

“CASH APP???? AFTER MOWING OVER SOMEBODY’S GRANDPA????” one comment read.

“Wow despicable!!! She has no remorse!!!” said another.

TikTok prohibits livestreaming while driving, the Root reported, but added that users can get around the security measure by using the app’s green screen feature, which Nesha was using in the video taken during the crash.

TikTok did not respond to a request for comment.

Nesha did not immediately reply to a message sent by The Post to an email address publicized on her Linktree page, on which she describes herself as “a rising entrepreneur with copious capabilities in the writing industry.”
