Sources told TVLine that it was a creative decision, and not Ifeachor’s choice to leave the medical drama.

On Wednesday, the British star hinted at her departure.

Ifeachor shared an Instagram video in which she said goodbye to her character. The “Wonka” alum played a senior resident in the emergency room alongside Noah Wyle, who stars as Dr. Michael “Dr. Robby” Robinavitch.

“What a blessing to be a part of this first and foundational season of #ThePitt on @hbomax,” Ifeachor captioned the clip. “It was an absolute privilege to play Dr. Heather Collins in such a groundbreaking season and piece. Thank you to everyone who has watched & supported Season 1 & shared their stories with me.”

The Post reached out to HBO Max for comment.

“The Pitt” follows the medical staff at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical during a 15-hour shift, with each episode covering an hour of the staff’s shift.

Season 1 of the series also starred Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, Supriya Ganesh, Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Isa Briones, Shabana Azeez, Gerran Howell and Shawn Hatosy.

In June, HBO Max announced that the show began production on the next season, which is set to premiere in January 2026.

Dr. Collins was last seen in episode 11 of the show. She confided in Dr. Robby (Wyle), who is also her ex, that she had gotten pregnant through IVF but miscarried earlier that day. Collins also revealed that she had gotten pregnant when they dated, but had an abortion.

Robby told his former flame he wasn’t upset and let her clock out early to recover.

Ifeachor was missing from the final four episodes.

In April, Wyle, 54, got candid on playing a doctor decades earlier on the hit medical drama, “ER.”

The actor portrayed Dr. John Carter on the NBC series from 1994 to 2009. George Clooney, Anthony Edwards and Julianna Margulies rounded out the cast.

In August 2024, “ER” creator Michael Crichton’s widow, Sherri, sued Wyle, “The Pitt” creator R. Scott Gemmill, executive producer John Wells, and Warner Bros. Television.

She sued over breach of contract, breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and intentional interference with contractual relations.

The lawsuit alleges that “The Pitt” is just a rebranded version of an unauthorized “ER” reboot.

Wyle told Variety he feels “profoundly sad and disappointed” by the lawsuit.

He added, “This taints the legacy, and it shouldn’t have.”

“At one point, this could have been a partnership. And when it wasn’t a partnership, it didn’t need to turn acrimonious,” Wyle continued. “But on the 30th anniversary of ‘ER,’ I’ve never felt less celebratory of that achievement than I do this year.”

The studio also weighed in on the accusations. They shared in a statement: “The lawsuit filed by the Crichton estate is baseless, as ‘The Pitt’ is a new and original show. Any suggestion otherwise is false, and Warner Bros. Television intends to vigorously defend against these meritless claims.”

Meanwhile, “The Pitt” has continued to garner Emmy buzz since the season finale in April. Ball, who plays Dr. Langdon, is hopeful that Wyle will take home an award later this year.

“It’s time. He deserves it,” the actor, 35, told The Post. “I grew up watching ‘ER’ and was a huge fan of his back in the day and getting to work with him now at this stage in his career and see just how deep that well is and how much he has grown.”

“Not only does he give an incredible performance, but I think also just the mission statement of the show that he set in the intention that he brought to it, both in the story that we were telling and how we were telling it. He’s the real deal.”
