After analyzing thousands of customer ratings and reviews from January through September 2025, the food delivery company was able to gather the best spots from five iconic pizza states: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Michigan and New York.

Each of the five states got their top 10, highlighting exclusively local companies.

“Pizza brings people together, from friends watching a game to kids celebrating a birthday. Every region and chef puts their own spin on a classic, and that creativity is what makes it so special,” Ruth Isenstadt, Head of US Restaurants at DoorDash, said in a statement.

“These local pizzerias help create memories around the table, and National Pizza Month is the perfect chance to enjoy your go-to favorite or try something new.”

The iconic Greenwich Village institution Joe’s Pizza made the cut for one of the top 10 pizzerias in New York. Established in 1975 by Joe Pozzuoli, who is originally from Naples, Italy, the pizza shop has been offering a New York slice for over 47 years and has become a go-to for both locals and tourists. Joe’s has become so popular that it now has five locations in New York and has expanded to Miami, Ann Arbor and Cambridge.

Rubirosa Pizza & Ristorante also topped the list. The restaurant is known for its infamous “tie dye” pizza, a green drizzle of pesto over vodka sauce, tomato and fresh mozzarella. The family eatery first opened in 2010 and reportedly raked in more than $5 million in gross revenues in its first year of business.

Across the bridge in Brooklyn, a pizzeria known for thin-crust pies and Sicilian slices made the cut. Brooklyn DOP first opened in 2022 with a wide-open kitchen that uses hand-stretched dough and electric ovens tuned for precision. Some of their top menu items include the Giusepp’s New York-style slice, the meatball hero and the Every Pizzeria Salad.

Also on the list is F&F Pizzeria in Brooklyn, founded in 2019 by acclaimed Brooklyn chefs Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli, collaborating with San Francisco baker Chad Robertson, as well as Chris Bianco of Phoenix’s Pizza Bianco. In the first few days the shop was open, they ran out of dough by the afternoon. F&F is beloved for everything from its classic slice to their infamous Clam Pie.
