The left’s celebration of Charlie Kirk’s death: Letters

The Issue: Leftists’ anti-Charlie Kirk statements and celebrations of his assassination on social media.

I wasn’t a follower of Charlie Kirk, but if I owned a company, my personal politics aside, I would seriously consider firing any employee expressing joy at his assassination (“Left Won’t Staunch Bleeding,” Karol Markowicz, Sept. 17).

Any human being who could see his gruesome murder and be gleeful has got to be mentally unstable and considered a risk to businesses, employees and customers.

It’s acceptable to see people rejoice in the death of despots, and there were many in the history of mankind. But Charlie Kirk?

He supported Trump and espoused a belief in God, patriotism and the American family and its values. Even if you deemed him to be a political activist, did he deserve to die? What was his sin? Take a pause, Americans. We are at a turning point, and we should all be alarmed.

Since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a disturbing trend has emerged concerning the celebration of his death instead of having respect for his passing and family.

College students and city workers, among others, have been spreading negativity about a great man who preached peace and love.

Because of his assassination, his following has grown, and his wife has taken over his position as the CEO of Turning Point. Even in death, his light is shining like a beacon of hope.

You would expect the vile, disgusting celebration of Charlie Kirk’s murder from the mouth-breathing slugs at MSNBC or CNN. What’s truly troubling is that the same celebration is also coming from teachers.

One can only imagine the indoctrination going on in today’s public-school systems: You condemn a man to death because you don’t agree with what he believes in? This is truly Satan’s work.

The Issue: ABC suspending Jimmy Kimmel after controversial remarks on the Kirk assassination.

The Post is right (“Kimmel Dug His Own Grave,” Editorial, Sept. 19).

I don’t think Brendan Carr should have intervened, but I have no sympathy for Kimmel, who joked about Roseanne Barr being fired by ABC and gloated about Tucker Carlson’s firing from Fox.

Kimmel attacked President Trump for scoring political points, and he lied to his audience about Kirk’s shooter’s political leanings, proving that the condolences he previously expressed were completely insincere.

Carr should have just moved out of the way, and let this narcissistic hypocrite walk his show off the cliff all on his own.

Jimmy Kimmel is an employee of ABC. As an employee, you must adhere to company policies.

If he spouts offensive words and lies, his employer has the right to terminate him. Otherwise, we could all go to work and tell offensive, sexual, racist and ethnic jokes under the veil of “free speech.”

Kimmel could have done his usual Trump-hating monologue and he wouldn’t have been suspended. But he chose to accuse MAGA of murdering Charlie Kirk.

If you’re going to accuse a group of murder, you better have proof. He deserves to be fired.
