His enshrinement into the Baseball Hall of Fame, which is coming up July 27.
“I didn’t want to have a walker or a cane with me at the induction,’’ Sabathia said in a recent phone interview. “I never liked rehabbing when I played and I didn’t want anything to go wrong for this. I didn’t want to be going to Cooperstown like that.”
