‘The Great British Baking Show’ Censors Noel Fielding Gag Too Naughty for the Tent
The Great British Baking Show loves its naughty jokes. We’re only three weeks into the 2025 season of the Netflix hit and we’ve already gotten phallic biscuits and Nadia Mercuri hoping for both a “thicker box” and that Paul Hollywood “actually swallows it and enjoys it.”
The Great British Baking Show Season 13 Episode 3 “Bread Week” features a gag from Noel Fielding that is so naughty, so dirty, and so sexual that the show’s producers pointedly cut away, censoring it for us at home. Sure, Aaron Mountford-Myles and Nadia can talk all they want about “holes” and “glazed rings,” but Noel’s tea towel joke went too far?

**Spoilers for The Great British Baking Show “Bread Week,” now streaming on Netflix**
Banter has always been a key ingredient in The Great British Baking Show‘s success. While the bakers are hard at work pulling together miraculous bakes to appease judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, hosts like Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are tasked with making their rounds in the tent. Both charming stars have to chat up the bakers. These segments are designed to help us get to know the contestants and spark laughter. Sometimes Noel and Alison get a little chaotic with these moments — think Alison literally falling off a counter or Noel ruining Nelly’s caramel — but this week marks the first time I can recall the editors cheekily cutting away from a dirty visual punchline.
Early on in The Great British Baking Show “Bread Week,” Alison notices eventual Star Baker Jasmine Mitchell’s cute tea towel. While Jasmine has hitherto just used the floral fabric to cover her dough, Alison knows a different use. She begins showing the baker a fun parlor trick where you hold the towel stiffly from two corners. With a flick of your wrist, the center of the towel begins to pop out.
After Jasmine quickly masters this silly little gag, Alison points out that Noel is approaching and encourages Jasmine to do it in his direction. Noel sees this, laughs, and sidles up to Jasmine.
“Let me show you this trick,” Fielding says, “but with one alteration.”
Fielding takes the tea towel and holds it exactly as both Alison and Jasmine have done. Then he moves the towel lower and lower, until it’s clear he’s attempting to use it to mimic getting an erection.
Before he can do this, though, the camera cuts directly to 59-year-old hairdresser Lesley Holloway cackling in Noel’s direction. We never get to see what it actually looks like, only emphasizing the taboo nature of the joke.
Now, the fact that this was censored in the same episode where Alison gags at Tom’s poop-like log of chocolate and Aaron quipping he has no preference in “hole size,” was wild to me. I suppose the idea is that the visual joke was more explicit than the double entendres being flung around the tent.
Nevertheless, Noel Fielding was censored on The Great British Baking Show this week.
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
