Early on in this week’s episode of Netflix‘s The Great British Baking Show, Northern Irish baker Iain Ross literally leapt out of the tent to “play.” The only problem? (Besides the fact he was supposed to be baking?) Not a single other baker wanted to join him for a roll around the green. “Does no one wanna play?” Iain jokingly asked from just outside the tent. It’s just the latest kooky moment to unfold on the always cozy, but increasingly chaotic Netflix hit.

For the first time ever, The Great British Baking Show tackled the theme of “Back to School Week,” letting hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond behave even more childish than usual. When they weren’t playing schoolyard games or cracking jokes about detention, the duo were passing out classic little bottles of milk to the bakers. During her rounds, Alison asked Iain Ross if he missed school.

“I like designated time to have fun,” Iain said. “I never play any more. I never climb stuff.”

“Oh, go on then,” Alison said encouragingly. “You’ve got two minutes. Off you go. Go and have a play, go on.”

Laughing, Iain agrees to go along with the bit. While other bakers, like Lesley, looked on from their benches, the Northern Irish lad jumped over the white fence that encircles the tent with one easy leap.

“Yes, Iain! Yes, Iain!” Alison cried.

“How did he do that?” Ukrainian baker Nataliia gawked.

Meanwhile, Iain began walking up and down the lawn outside the tent, begging for company.

“Someone want to play with me?” he asked, as none of the bakers took notice. “Guys! Does no one want to play?”

Iain eventually scoffs and returns to his bench and his bake.

As amusing as it was to watch this little interlude, you have to wonder if it was an early sign that the boy from Belfast was not on his a game this week. While Prue Leith was salivating over his caramelized bananas, Paul Hollywood was less than impressed with his flapjacks. Paul complained about the texture, prompting Iain to cheekily suggest he intended the bake to be softer.

Later in the episode, Iain struggled with his computer-inspired funfetti cake. Paul and Prue both criticized his Showstopper and even contemplated giving him the axe. In the end, however, Iain was spared. Jessika was eliminated instead, while Jasmine won Star Baker for the second week in a row.

Iain is one of the few bakers on the show to arrive with an already established online following. Over at thug.loaf, he bakes loaves of bread that feature homages to his favorite bands. He’s also been posting very cute videos and behind-the-scenes pics with some of his fellow bakers, including close friend Jessika.

In his exit interview, Iain not only expressed his relief, but teased that he’s got an even bigger hurdle to clear than the Bake Off tent’s white fence. “I’ve just got to get through ‘Chocolate Week,’” he said, previewing what’s coming next week on The Great British Baking Show.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
