‘The Golden Bachelor’ Finale Exclusive Clip: Mel Owens Confronts Peg Munson About His Fantasy Suite Date With Cindy

The Golden Bachelor‘s Season 2 finale is on the horizon, and ahead of the big night, Decider has an exclusive look at a major moment between Mel Owens and his Golden Gal Peg Munson.

Fantasy Suite Week saw the 66-year-old lead and the 62-year-old retired firefighter/fire investigator/bomb tech share a romantic day and night together that left Mel feeling like a new man. But his subsequent date in Antigua with Cindy Angelcyk Cullers took an unexpected turn during dinner with a heated discussion about their feelings for each other, future plans, and a potential engagement.

This week, we’ll see the rest of Mel and Cindy’s date, learn if they ever make it to the Fantasy Suite, and also see Mel have an unexpected conversation with Peg…

“It’s the final week, and today I’m going to be meeting Mel’s boys,” Peg says during Decider’s exclusive finale clip, featured at the top of this article. “I’m excited. I have all these emotions. We’re on the home stretch. You know? I know he has a connection with Cindy. They were together in the Fantasy Suite, and that makes me nervous, because I don’t know where I stand. My heart is invested, my emotions are invested, and I definitely feel that we can continue this journey. But I just have had my heart broken several times before, and I don’t want to get it broken again.”

As Peg is getting ready for the crucial day ahead, there’s a knock at the door, and Mel makes an unexpected appearance. While Peg greets him with her signature radiant smile, usually when a lead drops by pre-proposal, it’s not great news. (Remember Joan Vassos breaking up with runner-up Guy Gansert early on The Golden Bachelorette?!)

The move prompts an understandably concerned Peg to ask, “OK, what’s up you?” And when Mel sits her down, he explains, “You know I feel about you, right? That, you know, hasn’t changed. But I just want to be transparent with you and tell you what happened.”

“This is really weird,” Peg tells the camera. “Something’s going.”

The question is, is that something bad? Mel said his feelings for Peg didn’t change, and last week he said, “Peg is perfect for me. She’s my style…She’s full of joy, she’s fun, and she’s tough, too. All those things together make her who she is, and that’s why I like her. I’m all in on Peg. She has that charisma, and that passion, that love for life, and it’s captivating.”

If Mel’s feelings haven’t changed, perhaps he simply felt compelled to give Peg an update on his night with Cindy before she met his family, since he likely gave Cindy the same transparency on his overnight with Peg. Perhaps in a twist, it’s Cindy who goes home early, and Mel’s coming to tell Peg she’s the only one left? And there’s always a chance that Mel’s conversation with Peg doesn’t work out in her favor… Only time will tell, but we’re hoping it’s just a dramatic edit!

In another teaser ahead of the “explosive” final episode, Mel told Bachelor Nation, “I’m in the unknown at this point. I don’t know if it’s gonna blow up.” So tune in tonight, November 12, to see if Mel ends the season alone, with a girlfriend, or with a fiancé.
