The fantasy football receiving corps to target ahead of Week 4

When the Thursday night game ends, fantasy football managers are tasked with a very serious question heading into the Sunday games.

Are you looking for a safe floor or do you need high-upside?

Maybe you started a disappointing Trey Benson this week and now you need to swing for the fences with a starter or two.

Maybe you started Marvin Harrison Jr. who exceeded most projections, and now you’re looking for a player who can simply get the job done and deliver you 10-12 fantasy points.

Whichever side you’re on, the Packers receivers can offer you both as they prepare for a very favorable matchup against a terrible Cowboys defense.

Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur prefers a run-first approach, and having Josh Jacobs allows him to do just that.

But given the firepower and potential desperation of Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, even without CeeDee Lamb, there is strong potential for this game to turn into a bit of a shootout.

It has the third-highest projected game total according to Las Vegas, and if it delivers, the fantasy points should be abundant.

If you are simply looking for a quality, high-floor receiver likely to be still available on your waiver wire, you should look at Romeo Doubs.

Without much fanfare, he serves as the Packers X receiver, leads them in snaps and is second in targets.

The start of the season has been quiet, but over the previous two years, he averaged 5.5 targets per game, and last season finished with career-highs in yards per catch (13.1), yards per target (8.3) and yards per game (46.2).

The numbers aren’t outlandish, but they are consistent and safe.

Without Jayden Reed, Doubs work underneath should increase even more, helping boost his value in PPR formats.

If you’re looking for more upside, then check your waiver wire for Dontayvion Wicks.

Plagued by too many drops in his first two seasons, Wicks has seen the largest increase of snaps and targets among all the Packers receivers.

He handles a lot of the over-the-middle work, can stretch the field if he needs to and has been a solid end zone target for Jordan Love.

If you are looking for more of a high-upside play, he should have no issues with such a banged-up, struggling secondary.

And if you really need to swing for the fences, if you are looking for that true boom-or-bust play this weekend, then rookie Matthew Golden could be the way to go.

Golden should match up with Trevon Diggs most of the time, and the advantage clearly tilts in the rookie’s favor.

Betting on the NFL?

Diggs might have a size advantage, but his speed is nowhere near that of Golden.

The situation is optimal for a long touchdown, and Vegas has his longest-reception numbers going Over 23 yards which, by normal standards, is high.

There is no better way to cap off a football Sunday than watching your players in prime time as you take down your weekly opponent.

Though all eyes will be on Micah Parsons, yours can be fixated downfield as Love and the Packers receivers systematically carve up the Dallas secondary.

No matter what level of point production you need, the Packers should deliver.
