But is The Post going to endorse Andrew Cuomo now? What do you have against Curtis Sliwa? He can win if people push for him.
If Andrew Cuomo would follow Mayor Adams’ lead and clear the way for Sliwa, New Yorkers would then have two very distinct futures to choose from.
Five weeks — that’s all we have. Make it worth something.
Get out and vote for Sliwa, people. New York City is your home — it’s your life.

All of Adams’ wounds are self-inflicted.
He could have protected himself from his own narcissistic tendencies and those of his corrupt aides by hiring Randy Mastro as first deputy mayor sooner rather than later.
For the sake of the city, I am just glad he chose to do the right thing and drop out.

Adams’ withdrawal from the mayoral race was inevitable. The same will hold true for Sliwa.
However, I am outraged at the news report saying it is too late to re-tool the ballots. If that is so, there will be a lot of confusion at the voting booths come November.
If those ballot forms aren’t re-tooled, Zohran Mamdani could still become mayor.

As a proud New Yorker of 75 years, I thank Mayor Adams. He is one of the most caring, active mayors in my lifetime.
If Mamdani wins the election, I will never set foot in New York City again.

Adams dropping out leaves New Yorkers with a choice between antisemitic communist Mamdani playing class warfare, Republican Guardian Angel Sliwa promising public safety and Cuomo, who is promising affordable housing.
There are calls for either Sliwa or Cuomo to bow out.
Considering Sliwa won the Republican primary and Cuomo lost the Democratic primary, Cuomo would be considered the spoiler in the race.

Adams withdrawing from the race shuffles the votes. Will the voters who were going to vote for Adams vote for Cuomo or Sliwa now?
There’s not enough votes out there for both of them to continue, even with Adams withdrawing. Mamdani could still win the election.
However, if Sliwa withdraws, I believe voters will cast their vote for Cuomo. In a two-man race, he has a very good chance of winning.
I, for one, do not want a socialist as our mayor. That would be a total disaster. It’s now up to Curtis.

New York City is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For that reason, I clearly understand why Adams wanted to continue as its mayor.
His road to political prosperity doesn’t end with him dropping out.
I wish him well as he pursues any future political endeavors. Well done and farewell, Mayor Adams.

Nobody should be surprised by Adams’ withdrawal. If it is all about re-grading his record, he still gets an F.
This man ushered in everything wrong with the progressive Democratic agenda.
He set a poor precedent for other minority mayors by assuming he could embrace reckless social policies and poor economic policies, yet still expect people to donate to his campaign.
Greg Raleigh
Washington, DC
I commend Adams for putting New York City before his own self-interest. Now that he’s officially ended his campaign, Cuomo has a glimmer of a chance of preventing a communist takeover.
Of course, many of us never thought that we’d be cheering for the disgraced former governor. But with Republican candidate Sliwa polling a distant third, he doesn’t look promising.
