According to Deadline, Dunster had a conflict, as he signed on to be a series regular on an untitled new HBO comedy with Steve Carrell. However, he may be able to appear in “Ted Lasso” Season 4 in a “limited capacity.”

The Post reached out to Dunster for comment.

Meanwhile, Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift and Brendan Hunt are set to reprise their roles.

Several newcomers are also joining the cast, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern and Grant Feely, who will play Ted’s son, Henry.

Feely is a re-casting, as Henry was previously played by Gus Turner.

Season 4 of the hit Emmy-winning comedy has begun production in Kansas City, which is a marked change from the English setting in earlier seasons.

“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team,” the official logline reads. “Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

The series ran for three seasons before supposedly ending in 2023.

The show was a “fish out of water” premise following American football coach Ted Lasso (Sudeikis), who found himself coaching AFC Richmond, an English football (soccer) team on a losing streak.

Through his positive attitude and folksy sayings, Ted whipped the team into shape, including grumpy Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein, also a writer/producer) and the egotistical Jamie Tartt (Dunster), all while bonding with team owner Rebecca (Waddingham) and PR consultant Keely (Temple).

A romance between Ted and Rebecca was teased but never materialized – leaving that as a possible plot in Season 4.

There was also a love triangle between Roy, Jamie, and Keely that collapsed, and everyone ended up alone. If Dunster isn’t a series regular, it could mean Roy and Keely will get back together.

There were hints that a Season 4 would happen after Season 3 ended.

“You can ask anybody that wrote on the show, or acted on the show, or produced the show, and we will all say the same thing, which is, that’s up to Jason Sudeikis,” Lawrence told The Post in August 2024.

In March, Sudeikis finally confirmed that Season 4 is official, and will follow a women’s soccer team.

“We’re writing Season 4 now. That’s the official word,” the former “Saturday Night Live” star, 49, announced during Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast

At the time, it was reported that Sudeikis, Waddingham, Goldstein, and Swift were locked in to return, but Temple was still “in negotiations,” per Deadline.

Now, Temple is also onboard.

A premiere date for “Ted Lasso” Season 4 hasn’t been announced, yet.
