‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Is Officially In Production: AFC Heads To Kansas City, Ted Coaches The Women’s Team, And More Season 4 Info

You could fill two internets with what I don’t know about football. But one thing I know for sure is that Apple TV+‘s Emmy-winning comedy Ted Lasso is returning for Season 4!

After Season 3’s May 2023 finale saw Ted (Jason Sudeikis) leaving AFC Richmond behind and heading home to his family in Kansas City, Season 4 of the beloved series is kicking off production in KC, per Apple TV+.

In a July 21 press release, the streaming service also unveiled several new and returning cast members set to star in Ted Lasso‘s newest chapter. In addition to Sudeikis, OG stars Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, and Brendan Hunt are returning for Season 4. And based on a first-look image from set, it seems like several AFC Richmond members will be visiting Ted in his (and Sudeikis’) hometown for some good old fashioned barbecue before additional filming in London.

Per Apple TV+, Ted Lasso Season 4’s official synopsis is as follows: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”

In addition to Grant Feely, who’s stepping in as Ted’s son, Henry, Apple TV+ confirmed that Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern will also be joining Season 4’s cast.

Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt (Nobody Wants This, Modern Family, 30 Rock) will serve as an executive producer for Season 4 under a new overall deal with Apple TV+. And Sudeikis, Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel are onboard as EPs as well.

In addition to starring as Roy Kent, Goldstein will also return as a writer and EP, alongside Leanne Bowen and others. And Bill Lawrence will continue to executive produce via his Doozer Productions. (Diehard Lawrence-verse fans know that he and Goldstein recently wrapped Shrinking Season 3, as well. So we are so back, Apple TV+ heartfelt comedy lovers!)

After a perplexing Season 3 finale left viewers uncertain about the show’s future, Ted Lasso will have to bring its A-Game in Season 4. But considering the critically-acclaimed series snagged 61 Emmy nominations and 13 wins, the continuation smells like potential to us!

Were all those flash-forwards at the end of Season 3 real-life events? Can Roy and Keeley PLEASE get back together? Does Rebecca really end up with that Dutch Boat Man (whose name I can’t remember)? Or will TedBecca stans finally get the rom-com ending they’ve been craving? Only time will tell!

Stay tuned for additional Ted Lasso Season 4 updates, including premiere date info, casting, and more.

Ted Lasso Season 1 through Season 3 are now streaming on Apple TV+.
