Taylor Swift’s Pat McGrath red lipstick now available in lip liner form

When it comes to glamming up stars like Taylor Swift, Pat McGrath has it down pat.

The makeup mogul’s used her LiquiLust Legendary Wear Matte Lipstick in Elson on the pop star numerous times — and McGrath’s new Legendary Longwear Lip Liner, designed to stay “waterproof and transfer-proof” all day long, is also available in the iconic blue-red hue.

“I have put it on at the start of the day, been backstage all day, gone straight to dinner for hours of gossiping, and it stays absolutely perfect,” McGrath tells Page Six Style of the highly-pigmented product, which comes in 19 shades, including Elson.

Ahead of the product’s launch, McGrath used the new liners on Tyla and Chappell Roan for the 2025 Met Gala.

“I love trying my products on my celebs and models backstage before they hit the market. It really allows me to test them on every skin type and skin tone,” she explains, saying she needs products that “truly lock in place for the entire day” to eliminate the need for touch-ups.

Meanwhile, Cardi B proved it works just as well as eyeliner, using the Elson shade for a statement-making eye look on the cover of her new album, “Am I The Problem?”

As a red lip devotee (and Page Six’s resident Swiftie), Style & Shopping Director Elana Fishman was particularly excited to try the new product in Elson — or, as she calls it, “the perfect red.”

“Like all Pat McGrath products, the color payoff is phenomenal, and the creamy, gel-like texture makes lining and defining your lips a breeze — no dragging or skipping here!” she raves of the liner, which she found “lasted through drinks, video shoots, lots of talking and even some snacking with no feathering or bleeding.”

Page Six Commerce Reporter Hannah Southwick, who tested the shade 90s Nouveau, also found the product stood up to long days of wear, with only oil-based salad dressing noticeably dimming the pigment.

“As a longtime fan of Pat McGrath’s eyeshadows and complexion products — her Skin Fetish Foundation is the best there is, in my opinion — I was excited to give her latest launch a try,” she says.

“And after seeing Pat herself try (and fail) to remove some lip liner she drew on her hand, my interest was piqued. I wore the shade all over my lips in lieu of a lipstick, and it offered more lasting color than any other lip product I’ve used (and I’ve tried a lot).”

Whiles McGrath recommends cleansing the perimeters of your mouth “using a cotton swab with micellar water” before applying to ensure it adheres properly, Fishman also advises blotting afterwards to lock in the look further.

The 20-second window before the product dries allows you to blend to your heart’s content (or fix any mistakes), making it easy to use for even lip liner newbies.

“If you’re a fan of Pat’s Dramatique Mega Lip Pencils, you’ll love these new liners, which offer even more precision,” concludes Fishman.

Plus, while plenty of Elson products fly off the shelves, these are still in stock — for now, that is.
