“The Life of a Showgirl” was released simultaneously on streaming services — but the dedicated fans hunkered down inside select Manhattan Target stores at midnight to celebrate the album launch old-school style with vinyl and plastic copies of the album.

“I actually thrifted a CD player from Goodwill for this event,” Rose, 18, of Staten Island, told The Post as she waited to get inside the 34th Street Herald Square Target to grab the special edition album “and then like two or three CD’s.”

Rose was one of many fans who doused their faces with glitter to signify that the new release is what they call one of Swift’s “glitter pen albums” — which means the record is expected to be more fun and upbeat, with songs like the new ‘Wi$h Li$t.’

The new release is the opposite of Swift’s “feather pen” albums, such as TLOAS’s predecessor, “The Tortured Poet’s Department,” which is slower and lyrical, according to superfans.

The singer partnered with Target to release an exclusive “Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer vinyl” and three different CDs for the midnight release, and her rabid fans were eager to get their hands on as many copies as possible.

“I’m so excited!” Fiona Antal, 12, told The Post as she hugged her new album and CD to her chest, which was adorned in an Eras tour t-shirt.

“I have a CD player at home. I like collecting CDs… The first thing I am gonna do is listen to the entire album.”

The girl had been at soccer practice when her mom realized it was The Life of a Showgirl night and promptly called her father to jet her to the nearest Target, where they secured the second spot in line, Mark Antal explained: “She’s like, ‘Yeah, you have to go up to Times Square. Taylor Swift’s album is going to be released.’”

“I got the vinyl, so I can have it as my keepsake forever,” said Apryl Arden. Christopher Sadowski

Uzayr Dinath, 25, happened to be visiting New York from South Africa during the release, which was kismet for the superfan — the auditor once traveled to London to see Swift perform because she has never performed in his continent.

“Whenever I travel overseas, I collect Taylor Swift CDs, because they don’t sell them in South Africa,” said Dinath.

“I got the vinyl, so I can have it as my keepsake forever. And now I’m gonna walk the streets of New York and listen to the entire thing in its entirety on Spotify and just soak it all in,” said Arden, an artist who borrowed the shimmery dress from her own Taylor Swift Tribute Show wardrobe.

“I am hoping to sell my show to cruise ships. I play guitar, I play piano. It’s a whole tribute show to her.
I made all the arrangements myself.”

On 34th Street, Mila Friberg and her family, visiting from Norway, snagged the No. 1 spot in line by showing up more than two hours ahead of the midnight launch.

“I am just so excited about everything,” said Mila, who is just shy of celebrating her 10th birthday — making her nine years younger than Swift’s musical career.

“It’s too late for me. I love Taylor. I love her so much.”

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
