Target this Angel Reese prop

Sometimes a league schedule presents a bizarre sequence that provides a good betting opportunity, and I think we have that on Sunday in the WNBA.

The Chicago Sky visit the Minnesota Lynx as 15.5-point underdogs with a total of 159.5 points.

This will be Minnesota’s fifth game in an eight-day span, given the Lynx reached the Commissioner’s Cup championship game this past Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Sky are taking the court for the first time in a week, having not played since last Sunday. In my eyes, this gives Chicago a big edge, especially with the Lynx playing less than 24 hours earlier against a frisky and resilient Golden State Valkyries squad.

While I think the point spread is too high and lean to the underdog, I believe the better play is a proposition bet involving Angel Reese. The forward leads the WNBA in rebounding, just like she did last year as a rookie, and a large reason for that is her unparalleled motor.

ESPN broadcaster Jay Bilas has often said that “effort is a skill” and Reese possesses this skill more than anyone.

She forces other teams to game plan for her but there is only so much one can do. She has excellent instincts and uses her size and length to her advantage.

Her rebound prop is 13.5 rebounds, which is as high as it has been for any player all season.

Nevertheless, she just set a WNBA record with at least 15 boards in four straight games.

Plus, Minnesota is a mediocre rebounding team and should have limited energy after playing so many games in such a short window. Additionally, I think those tired legs will impact their shooting and thus should have more misses for Reese to rebound than usual.

I have a 52-46-1 ATS record in this Post sports section, after Saturday evening’s outcome. My next play is Reese Over 13.5 rebounds against the Lynx at -110 odds at FanDuel.
