Sydney Sweeney Would “Definitely” Win ‘The Amazing Race,’ According To Mike White: “She’s A Master At Getting What She Wants”

The White Lotus creator Mike White could still reunite with his Season 1 star Sydney Sweeney – but not how fans may expect.

Speaking to Variety, Sweeney revealed she not only wanted to compete on The Amazing Race, but she wanted to complete the reality show tournament with White by her side.

“Honestly, Mike and I would be a killer team,” she told the outlet.

And White – who competed on the show in Seasons 14 and 18 with his father – certainly agreed.

“I would definitely win with her. She’s the master at getting what she wants. And I mean that in an absolutely good way,” he said about the actress.

The CBS reality show challenges teams of two to race embark on an international race for the chance to win $1 million.

White was eliminated from the show twice in the Thai island of Koh Samui, making for some bad memories on the island when The White Lotus Season 3 recently filmed at the Four Seasons there. He and his father were eliminated in sixth place in Season 14 when they finished last in the race. But in Season 18, the pair were eliminated after they both developed hypothermia.

Sweeney could be a good companion on the show. In addition to her previous experience MMA fighting and recent training for the Christy Martin biopic Christy, Sweeney also enjoys kitesurfing and cliff diving.

Sweeney starred in Season 1 of White’s hit, Emmy Award-winning series The White Lotus, playing a disaffected teenager who has a rather toxic relationship with the best friend she brought along on her family vacation to Hawaii.

White expressed that he would love to bring Olivia Mossbacher back on the show. But Sweeney’s star power has skyrocketed since the show premiered on HBO in 2021. Sweeney delivered a scene-stealing performance as Cassie Howard in Euphoria and starred opposite Glen Powell in the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You.

“I don’t know if we could afford her now,” he said. “As of now, it doesn’t look like that’s gonna happen.”

But White only had praise to share for the star.

“My eyes kept going to her, no matter who’s in the scene with her,” he said. “That’s natural screen magnetism that is hard to quantify. She just has that. I don’t know what makes somebody a star, but there is something about her that just is.”
