Sydney Sweeney sparks fury among World Series fans with Fox intro ahead of Game 4

Sydney Sweeney sparked fury among watchers when she appeared on Fox’s pregame coverage of the World Series.

On Tuesday night, the “Anyone But You” star voiced the intro just minutes before Game 4 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays began.

Dressed in a red hot mini dress and matching pumps, the blond bombshell “romanticized” the upcoming game as she told fans, “Why not roll out the red carpet and place their names exactly where they belong? High above the streets in shining lights.”

“Winning, real winning, isn’t polished. It’s bruised, it’s messy, it’s imperfect, it’s everything you can’t fake. It’s earned, it’s beautiful all on its own,” she continued as clips of the Blue Jays and the Dodgers played out during the clip.

“Let’s just save the Hollywood for the ending. Welcome to Game Four of the World Series on Fox.”

Sweeney, 28, was also in attendance at the game, sharing several Instagram photos with her friends. She was also photographed sitting with Christy Martin, whom Sweeney is playing in the biopic, “Christy.”

Following her appearance, many took to social media to question why the actress was being featured ahead of the game.

“Why is Sydney Sweeney narrating the World Series game 4 intro,” one person simply asked as another one said, “sydney sweeney ad for the world series? who invited you.”

“Why tf is Sydney Sweeney doing the World Series intro? That was a creepy a$$ tone of voice too,” a third netizen shared via X.

“Sydney Sweeney monologue to open up Game 4 of the World Series in Los Angeles, that’s certainly a choice,” a fourth criticized as well.

However, many came to the “Euphoria” star’s defense, arguing that she was the right choice for the clip.

“Did Sydney Sweeney break the internet yet?” a fan questioned, adding, “What a World Series introduction 🔥🔥🔥”

“Sydney Sweeney is the best part of this World Series honestly,” another boldly stated.

“Sydney Sweeney introducing Game 4 of the World Series might be the highlight of my year,” one fan shared via social media.

“Sydney Sweeney hype video for the World Series is probably the best thing ever,” a fourth agreed as another added, “Sydney Sweeney?! Give FOX all the Emmy’s for their World Series production!”

“Every Liberal watching the @MLB World Series just lost their s–t when Sydney Sweeney showed up! Gotta love it!!” another netizen commented with another noting, “I see a Dem meltdown coming, Sydney Sweeney narrates the start of World Series game four.”

Sweeney’s rise to fame has been marred by controversy after a 2022 birthday party for her mom exposed her political affiliation.

At the time, the “White Lotus” actress had thrown a MAGA-themed party for her mom with red hats that read, “Make Sixty Great Again.”

By the summer of 2025, she was accused of spreading Nazi propaganda with an American Eagle jeans campaign that used the tagline, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.”

The original line read “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes,” however, the word “genes” was crossed out with a white line to be corrected to “Jeans.”

Although many celebs slammed the campaign and made fun of it, President Trump praised it while she remained silent about the backlash.

It was also later revealed that Sweeney was a registered Republican in Florida.
