Slowly but surely, TreVeyon Henderson is taking over the Patriots’ backfield.

The pair essentially split touches last Sunday before the Patriots ran away with the 42-13 home blowout win over the Panthers, while veteran Antonio still gets several attempts per game.

While it has been a drawn-out process, Henderson is starting to show why the Pats used their second-round pick on the Ohio State product, who may finally lock down the RB1 role in a sneaky easy road matchup on “Sunday Night Football” against the division rival Bills.

Henderson ran for 4.6 yards per carry with his first career touchdown on his seven attempts last week.

He’s consistently been a factor in the pass game as well, catching at least two passes in each of his four career games.

The Bills may be 4-0 and the AFC’s only undefeated team, but it’s not because of their run defense.

Buffalo has allowed 164.3 rushing yards per game, which is the second-most in the NFL, barely ahead of the Chicago Bears.

Just last week, they allowed 189 rushing yards to the Saints, who are hardly a powerhouse offense, while hanging on for a 31-19 home win.

In a plus-matchup Sunday night, oddsmakers still aren’t expecting much from Henderson, pegging his total yards number at just 44.5.
