‘Sunday Night Football’ picks, best bets
Seahawks are flying high, but Washington gets back their guy.
On “Sunday Night Football,” the Seattle Seahawks have a big opportunity to take a commanding lead in the NFC West by improving to 6-2 with a win.

The gambling community is certainly favoring Seattle in this one, as the Seahawks are three-point road favorites, according to the oddsmakers at Fanatics Sportsbook.
But they will face a desperate Commanders squad that is 2-5 and needs a win to remain in the thick of the NFC playoff picture.
Washington has a terrible record, but its advanced stats actually show the Commanders are a much better team than one would believe based off the results.
The Commanders are rated the No. 11 overall team in terms of DVOA, although the Seahawks are well up the list at No. 2.
Seattle’s defense has been the rallying cry for the Seahawks, ranking No. 3 in DVOA.

Their run defense is the most impressive part of their unit, allowing 3.3 yards per carry (YPC) —the best mark in the NFL—and just 2.9 YPC over their last three games.
So I’m not expecting much production from Jacory Croskey-Merritt or the rest of the running back crew.
The Seahawks have a bottom-half-of-the-league coverage grade per Pro Football Focus, and their ability to stop the run leads me to a Daniels air show Sunday night.
Betting on the NFL?
Look for the Commanders to pull off the upset this weekend as they look to make a run towards a playoff berth — whether their receivers are healthy or not.
For what it’s worth, Daniels has cleared Over 219.5 passing yards in 15 of the 25 games he’s played in his career, and I suspect he does that again in this primetime showcase.
THE PICK: Commanders ML (+140, BetMGM)
