State Department threatens to strip visas from foreigners who ‘glorify violence’ in wake of Charlie Kirk assassination

The State Department threatened to strip visas from foreign nationals who “glorify violence” after conservative icon Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a speaking event in Utah Wednesday.

Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau warned Thursday that federal officials are cracking down on twisted social media mockery of Kirk’s savage killing — and urged users to report offenders immediately.

“In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome victors to our country,” Landau posted on X.

“I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action. Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the @StateDept can protect the American people.”

Social media users flooded the comment section on Landau’s post with screenshots of vile tweets from supposed immigrants celebrating the Turning Point USA founder’s violent and shocking public execution.

Landau responded to several posts with an image of the US seal in a Batman-style spotlight, featuring the words “El Quitavisas” — Spanish for “The Visa Remover” — in the lower-right corner.

Kirk, a married father of two, was ruthlessly gunned down with a single bullet to the neck at Utah Valley University while addressing thousands during the inaugural stop of his American Comeback Tour.

The deranged assassin who pulled the trigger fled the scene and was still at large Thursday night.

The FBI has since released photos of the college-aged suspect sporting dark clothing, a hat and sunglasses, and offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to his identification and arrest.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio mourned the 31-year-old MAGA influencer’s death, saying that Kirk’s patriotism and devotion to America will endure for generations.

“Charlie is someone I’ve gotten to know personally, and it’s just heartbreaking to see,” Rubio told Fox News Thursday morning.

“It’s both stunning and outrageous at the same time. We know two things for certain, and that is that a great young man is dead, and a family’s been shattered, and that there’s no place for this in America, we all know that. It’s not just outrageous, it’s frightening.”

Earlier this year, the State Department announced it would review foreign-born college students’ social media and revoke visas for those expressing sympathy for Hamas or other terror groups.

More than 6,000 student visas have since been pulled.
