Sofia Coppola coordinates black Chanel dresses with daughters Romy and Cosima Mars for MoMA film benefit

They’re back in black.

At least when it comes to the Coppola-Mars family, who turned out for the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit on Wednesday night in New York City in coordinated, classic style.  

Hosted by Chanel, longtime friend and muse of the house, Sofia Coppola, attended alongside her husband Thomas Mars and teenage daughters Romy and Cosima Mars.

The three women coordinated their head-to-toe Chanel looks, wearing black dresses in varying lengths and styles with an array of classic accessories from the storied French design house.

Sofia chose a long-sleeve, long gown embellished with sequins. Pointed-toe pumps peeked out from underneath the dress’s handkerchief hemline, which hit at the ankle. The esteemed director added even more sparkle with diamond drop earrings and a diamond bracelet on her right wrist.

Cosima, 15, showed a little more leg with a printed silk mini dress, belted at the waist. It featured a flounce skirt and a backless halter silhouette. She carried a metallic silver quilted Chanel bag and slipped into embellished slingback heels.

Elder sister, Romy, 18, went for classic black with a sheer camisole and pleated maxi skirt with a slit up the front. She added a black mini flap bag and sparkly silver-and-black cap-toe pumps, both classic Chanel designs.

The trio doesn’t often make public appearances together, but, when they do, there’s no doubt they’ve discussed their looks beforehand.

Back in July, Coppola and her daughters stepped out together for the Chanel Haute Couture fall 2025 fashion show in Paris, wearing coordinated pastel looks. Romy and Sofia wore baby blue while Cosima chose pale pink.

While Romy has been busy on social media, making a name for herself as a nepo baby, her sister Cosima has stayed out of the limelight — for now.

With more public appearances on the calendar, however, there’s plenty of time for little sis to come into her own.
