Snoop Dogg delivers epic play-by-play of Steve Kerr ejection

Snoop Dogg, of all people, might have produced the call of the NBA season Monday night.

Appearing as a celebrity guest on NBC’s telecast of the Warriors-Clippers game in Inglewood, Calif., the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper provided the perfect play-by-play of Steve Kerr’s epic fourth-quarter meltdown.

While the Golden State coach was going nuclear on referees over the way they officiated in his team’s 103-102 loss to Los Angeles, Snoop was on the mic delivering a blow-by-blow that had basketball fans howling.

“Steve’s ready to fire on him!” Snoop said as the Warriors’ coach was in the throes of his outburst.

“Steve’s back in Inglewood right now. Inglewood! Get him, Steve. You in Inglewood, Steve. The Arizona Wildcat done came out. Look at him.”

Snoop then went on to cap off his masterpiece with some cat-like growls.

Kerr had been specifically livid over two controversial calls.

The first came earlier in the fourth quarter when a Steph Curry basket was waived off after refs deemed he was fouled on the floor.

The second happened moments later, when a John Collins block was not ruled a Clippers goaltending violation.

Kerr was hit with two technicals for his explosion and was tossed from the game.

He did not speak with the media following the contest, though Curry said he appreciated the coach’s fire in his postgame press conference.

“Two crazy calls in a row that you feel like can dictate the momentum of a game,” Curry said. “Doesn’t mean a win or a loss, it just dictates the momentum. I love that fired-up Steve for sure. Somebody had to do it tonight.”

The wild moment was hardly Snoop’s only highlight during his evening as a broadcaster.

He also poetically called a Jimmy Butler steal “cookies and cream,” before adding, “They opened up a cookie shop on him.”

At another point, he described a player going into the paint and losing the ball as “small fries running up on a Big Mac.”

No word yet when Snoop will be back on a broadcast, but for many NBA fans it won’t be soon enough.
